Nollywood actress Eucharia losses only son to sickle cell

Nollywood screen diva has lost her only son to the cold hand of death. This was made public by a social media guru, Tosin Adeleye who announced the death of the teenager via his social media account Adeleye asked Nigerian to pray for the star of “glamour girls”, so she will pass through this trying time as soon as possible.

 The boy who died, yesterday, August 22, was said to have been lost to sickle cell disease was fathered with Eucharia’s ex-husband Charles Ekwu.

Eucharia was once quoted as saying she did not plan for the birth of the boy “It was not a deliberate choice that I have made.

It came by chance, it came by mistake. God does not kill His children who have made mistakes. He would rather sustain them and tell them that He is the owner of all things.

The Lord has been sustaining me as a single parent. I don’t think about it, all I know is, ‘God, you are the one that created me and the child that you gave to me’. So whatever that is needed of me, it was a wrong choice that I made.”


Raymond, who happened to be her only child died from Sickle Cell Anaemia, a sickness he was reportedly born with.

Speaking with reporters on the child’s death, the actress said, “My son has gone to our place of origin to be with our daddy Jesus, waiting for me when I eventually go there at the fullness of time.

“God knows best.

“Thank you, I appreciate it.”

We pray God gives her the fortitude to bear the loss, may his soul rest in peace. Amen
