How to save trafficked children on Nigerian streets

In Nigeria, it is no longer story up stories that human trafficking of all kinds, have continued all over the nation.

With even the increase in the poverty level, increase in insecurity especially in Benue, alot of families have tend to seek better future for their children without even knowing who the people who they are handing their children over to really are.

Most of this decisions of letting go of their children have led to untold hardship and suffering, that this children tend to go through daily, with no one to help end their sorrow.

As parents are being encouraged to plan well for their children or atleast send their children to those who will really care about their welfare. The responsibility of stopping the worrisome trend lies in our hands.

Most street hawkers are children that are very young, this children who are under the custody of their so called "guardians", tend to be used and over used. Probably the children were promised School Education but rather they have turned street hawkers, they were promised jobs but are used as sex slaves.

NAPTIP ( National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons) as a body given the mandate to look into cases of this nature and others that relate to human modern day slavery in Nigeria, by people who see no offense in abusing and putting so many Nigerians in daily pains and sorrow.

We wish to state the phone numbers and email address of NAPTIP, so we can all turn this ugly trend around, which will in turn reduce street Hawking, prostitution and maltreatment of children even by their parents.
